Monthly One Word Link-Up Party — February

Welcome to the first official monthly One Word link-up! This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while — a regular space to check in on how our words are sitting with us, what they’re teaching us, and how they’re shaping our months.

We’re two months into 2013. How is your word going?

Link-up is now closed. Thank you to everyone who joined in!

A few reflection prompts to get you started

  • How has your word surprised you in the first two months?
  • Is it harder or easier to live your word than you expected?
  • Where is your word showing up that you didn’t anticipate?
  • What would need to change in your daily life to honour your word more fully?

My word check-in

My word is sitting with me in the mornings. It’s there when I wake up before the children, in those quiet minutes that belong only to me and the kettle. It’s showing me things about myself I’d rather not see, which is uncomfortable but also probably necessary. If you’re still searching for the right word or want fresh inspiration, this guide on how to choose a word of the year walks through the process with over 100 word ideas to help you find the one that fits.

I’ve found that a good word for the year doesn’t let you off the hook — it holds you accountable to yourself in a way that’s surprisingly persistent. If you wrote an introduction post for your word back in January, you can still link up your One Word 2013 introduction post and join the wider conversation happening in that space.

I am grateful for it, even when it’s annoying.

Can’t wait to read your check-ins. Link up below!
