A quick but important note about the One Word buttons: I’ve had a few people let me know that the download link in my previous post wasn’t working correctly for them. I’ve fixed this now — if you tried before and got an error, please try again.
Also: I know some of you have been sharing the direct file link rather than linking back to the post. I really appreciate you spreading the word about the challenge — but if you could link back to the post instead of the file, that helps other people find the explanation of the challenge itself, not just a download. If you need a reminder, you can find step-by-step instructions for getting and linking your One Word button correctly. Thank you so much!
A Bible reading plan for the new year
While we’re on the subject of new year preparation — I’ve been testing a new Bible reading plan that I want to share with you.
Rather than a read-the-whole-Bible-in-a-year plan (which I’ve started many times and finished twice), this one focuses on depth over breadth. Each month you read one book of the Bible through slowly — reading it multiple times, sitting with it, letting it become familiar. If you’re looking for scripture to support you as you prepare, you might find these Bible verses for anxiety and worry a helpful companion for quieter moments of reflection.
You won’t get through all 66 books in a year this way. But you’ll really know the ones you do read. And in my experience, slow and deep is more transformative than fast and broad.
I’ll share the full plan in January, with some suggested questions to use as you read. If you’d like to pair your reading with a simple planning tool, the free printable weekly planner with a Bible memory verse section might be just the thing to help you stay consistent. If you’d like me to email the reading plan to you directly, leave your details in the comments and I’ll be in touch.
Now — Christmas is a week away. I hope yours is full of exactly what you need, and mercifully free of what you don’t. See you on the other side.
